"60 Years of Dreams Realized" Peppermint Possibilities - A Night to Remember

Peppermint Ridge kicked off its 60th Anniversary celebration with the "60 Years of Dreams Realized" Peppermint Possibilities Fundraiser, Dinner and Auction on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 at Hidden Valley Golf Club in Norco. The night honored our founders, Bob and Mary Jeffery and their family. Bob and Mary's daughters Judy and Jane were accompanied by loving grandchildren. Judy Lambert gave a heartfelt speech about the perseverance of her parents and their dedication to people with developmental disabilities. The Corona Chamber of Commerce was the recipient of the 2019 Community Partner Award for its long-standing relationship with The Ridge. The Chamber has been a vital resource and advocate since 1987. Beverly Scott gave a moving testimonial about the positive impact The Ridge has had on her family since her sister Barbara joined the Ridge family in 1993. The Rejoicers performed "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers and Darren L. performed a solo of "Your Song" by Elton John. The crowd clapped and sang along and gave the singers a standing ovation. There was a lot of silent auction activity and paddles were raised enthusiastically for both the Live Auction and Fund-a Need. Because of the support from 24 generous sponsors and over 250 guests, we raised over $91,776 to assist the residents of Peppermint Ridge. Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, staff and attendees for celebrating 60 years of Peppermint Ridge!

Attendees raise a toast to 60 Years of Peppermint Ridge!

A Night to Shine Prom at Crossroads Church

The much anticipated "Night To Shine Prom" was held at Crossroads Church. Ridgers looked stunning in their best dresses and suits. They danced, sang and had a great time with friends. The room was full of shining smiles! Over 100,000 people with special needs participated in "Night to Shine," a worldwide prom sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Photography Class

Ridgers were asked what kind of new classes they would want to take. Photography was an option many Ridgers wanted to learn more about. We are thrilled that we found a great teacher and are now able to offer photography classes. Ridgers have learned about setting up a photo booth, how to work as a team, and the basics on how to take digital pictures. Due to the high number of Ridgers wanting to participate, we could use a few more cameras. If you have an digital camera that you would like to donate to the Ridge, please contact Activities Assistant Julian Quintero, at jquintero@peppermintridge.org or 951-273-7320.

Ridgers learned with teamwork you can make something beautiful out of something simple, like yarn.
